Description
Helvellyn Green Contour Map
Helvellyn is a mountain shaped by ridges, edges and water.
From the curve of Striding Edge to the dark bowl of Red Tarn below, its landscape feels carved rather than simply formed, with steep slopes and broad shoulders folding into one another across the eastern face of the fell.
This contour map focuses entirely on the shape and structure of the mountain itself.
Created using real terrain elevation data, the layered contour lines reveal the terrain surrounding Red Tarn and Striding Edge, reworked here in deep green tones inspired by classic outdoor maps and Lakeland landscapes.
The coloured design gives the piece a softer and more atmospheric feel than the monochrome version, while still keeping the clean sculptural detail of the terrain.
Printed large at A2 size, the layered contours create depth and texture that subtly shift with changing light throughout the day.
Available unframed or professionally framed in a range of finishes including Museum Black.

Peace of mind
If you didn't know - I love maps. Poring over a map gives me great pleasure, whether I've been there (that warm, familiar feeling) or I long to go there (anticipation and curiosity). I love people buying my maps and getting those same feelings.
- All of my maps are framed by hand in my studio in Greater Manchester
- I've sold hundreds of framed maps since I became a Mountain Leader in 2018
- They are frequently bought as a gift
- And, they're packed very well and shipped with care
