Lake District Contour Maps & Mountain Wall Art

These contour maps began as a way of bringing the mountains I love off the computer screen and onto the wall.

Every map starts with real terrain data and is designed, printed and framed here in Greater Manchester for walkers, climbers and people who simply want a piece of the fells at home.

Some mountains become part of your life. These maps are a way of keeping them there.

Real Terrain Data

Built from genuine elevation data, not AI-generated artwork.

Framed by hand

Printed, mounted and framed here in Greater Manchester.

Made for walkers

Designed by someone who actually spends time in the mountains.

A good mountain map doesn’t just show where you’ve been.

It reminds you how it felt to stand there.

Featured Contour Maps

These are the mountains people ask me about most often, places tied to first summits, difficult days, family walks and unforgettable views.

Why Contour Maps?

Contour maps strip a mountain back to its shape.

Without paths, colours and symbols fighting for attention, the land itself becomes the focus. Ridges sharpen, valleys deepen and familiar mountains suddenly look completely different hanging on a wall.

For walkers, they become more than decoration. They become memory triggers.

  • A hard-earned summit
  • A wild camp
  • A first scramble
  • A favourite ridge walked fifty times

The mountains we return to tend to become part of who we are.

Walked it. Wrote about it. Mapped it.

The maps are only part of the story, the result of a journey that’s lasted many years for me.

Many of the mountains featured in the collection also appear throughout the walking blog, alongside route cards, photographs, weather, scrambling routes and the sort of observations you only really make after spending years out in the hills, wild camping many of them, completing the Wainwrights and becoming a mountain leader.

Most of my maps end up as gifts.

Birthday presents, weddings, retirements, house warming gifts, a memento for completing the Wainwrights or simply because somebody misses the mountains when they’re not there.

I thought you might l ike to see a photo of one very happy customer at Christmas, offering up the Lakes relief map I bought from you in December to see where it might go.

We are delighted with it, it’s just what I was looking for. Beautifully done. I’m so glad to have found you.

Thank you.
