Helvellyn True Contour Map
Helvellyn has a way of becoming part of people’s lives.
For some it’s their first proper mountain day. For others it’s a winter challenge, a favourite sunrise walk or a ridge crossed in wind, rain and low cloud with Striding Edge dropping away beside them.
This contour map focuses entirely on the shape and structure of the mountain itself.
Created using real terrain elevation data, the flowing contour lines reveal the broad plateau, steep eastern edges and sweeping ridges that make Helvellyn instantly recognisable among Lake District fells.
The monochrome design strips everything back to the landscape alone, turning the mountain into a striking piece of wall art rather than a traditional navigational map.
